Google Tricks & Tips: 19th Edition (2024)

Google’s free apps cover a lot of ground, and it is easy to miss useful features while sticking to familiar routines. Google Tricks & Tips: 19th Edition brings together illustrated tutorials for a wide range of Google tools, showing readers how to navigate features and complete common tasks across maps, photos, video, documents and more.

One guide, many Google tools 💻

The issue moves through Google’s app suite with focused, page-by-page walkthroughs. Topics include Google Maps and Google Earth, Translate and Flights, Google Photos, YouTube, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Keep, Pay, the Play Store and Blogger. That breadth makes it useful for readers who want to explore beyond a single app.

Practical steps for everyday tasks

Rather than treating the apps as abstract features, the tutorials describe specific actions: sharing or embedding a map, recovering deleted Drive files, working with photo albums and collages, editing images, and uploading or livestreaming video. The contents also include introductions to Google’s productivity tools, with separate sections for Docs, Sheets, Slides and Drawings.

Explore at your own pace

Each topic stands on its own, so readers can turn to an app they already use or browse for something new. The illustrated, step-by-step format offers a guided starting point for people building confidence with Google services and a handy tour for more experienced users who want to look beyond their usual workflows.

A note on the edition

This is the 2024 edition. Google’s products and interfaces can change over time, and the issue includes references to services such as Google Cloud Print; check current Google information when a feature’s availability matters.

For readers curious about getting more from Google’s broad collection of apps, this edition offers a wide-ranging, approachable place to begin. ✨
