Computeractive Issue 718

Windows 10 support, safer passwords, private photo backups and the case for keeping your DVDs: Computeractive Issue 718 brings practical computing advice together with technology news and product reviews. The cover feature focuses on choices for Windows 10 users as support approaches its end, while the rest of the issue ranges across the digital questions that affect everyday life.

Practical help for Windows users

The main feature explains ways to keep using Windows 10 more safely after support ends, and considers routes such as extended updates and upgrading an unsupported PC. Elsewhere, a workshop covers transferring files, data and settings from Windows 10 to Windows 11. These articles give the issue a useful focus for readers weighing up what to do with an existing computer.

Security, privacy and the services we use

Issue 718 also looks at a reported security flaw affecting password-manager browser extensions, screenshot privacy, YouTube age checks and the terms behind buying films and television online. The coverage connects familiar technology habits with the security, privacy and ownership questions that can sit behind them.

Reviews, tips and everyday fixes

Product reviews span computers, a Wi-Fi 7 router, printers, phones and other consumer devices. Regular sections add software suggestions, browser and phone tips, reader advice, and answers to common computing problems. There is also a feature on stepping back from streaming in favor of DVD and Blu-ray, plus guidance on backing up photographs to a private server.
