Good lessons
This has a lot of information that I did not learn in any previous book (most of mine are several decades older) and all of it is laid out in a way where it is as easy to learn as it’s going to be. (You still have to get pencil and paper and put in effort….just the understanding is easier.)

Very good book for beginner. It goes into the different types of pencils, what pencils work best with which type of paper, the types of drawing paper and techniques of drawing with pencils. I would recommend this book to beginners wanting to learn to draw.

GREAT STARTER BOOK!
I bought this for my very talented teenage daughter who is trying to expand her drawing techniques from anime to more “realistic” drawings. She is learning a lot from this book. That being said, I have seen books with better pictures and more examples, but this is a good starter book. The eye examples in this book are spot on!She is very happy with this book!

For activities you have to transfer a photo to photoshop etc or complicated method
Decent book however for the activities it wants you to use a charcoal to apply on the back of your photon to copy the image over to then find the shading by numbers activity and I just donât have that available they should include either a print off or offer a link to print it off since itâs a teaching book it should be complete with the basic essentials such as the lesson page!!

ALMOST EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SHADING TECHNIQUES
I really learned a lot about the different methods used for making art look realalistic through the use of different techniques used for filling in light and dark areas after drawing a piece of art. This book will also serve as a good reference when needing any questions answered regarding what and when to used different techniques used for shading.

Ce livre est bien fait dans sa structure. Une partie leçon et une partie dessiner.En tant que débutante, ce livre nous apprend les perspectives et ombrages.Livre assez complet 190 pages, en anglais. Mais compréhensible.Couverture rigide

This is the most comprehensive drawing aid I’ve ever read to date (and I have read a lot of them)

Very detailed tips on shading. Useful. But topics seem to jump around . First project is quite involved and complicated. Next one much simpler. Then complex then silly. I’m not sure what age group she is writing for. Mostly adults I think….
