The front and back cover art of this book is the best part! Most of the art inside is awesome, while some of it is pretty average. Overall, it’s a great art book with lots of high quality pictures. Although I would like a little less “Beast Wars,” and a little “More Than Meets the Eye,” I can’t complain, because I knew what I was buying. Good buy for any true Transformers fan.

Like many other people, I preordered this book from the publisher and never received the book or a refund. I hope the publisher goes bankrupt.

You’re going to get a little of everything with this book. Mostly G1, which is fine with me, not too much of the sillier stuff like beast wars or marvel g2.

Mark Brooks’ stuff looks great except that they seem to be made out of marshmallows. Seriously, their torsos, forearms, legs are all giant roundish bits that would never fit together.

Dan Khanna is overall clean and nothing really spectacular, really off on his proportions. Also the poses are just WEIRD sometimes. There’s one of Prime in some weird hip stance, pointing his finger off into the distance like he’s drunk at some opening ceremonies thinking “oh yeah baby, you and me after the show”. He does this same pose with Rodimus later on… and same exact poses of Megatron and Galvatron. not very creative there…

Don Figueroa is all pretty solid. Soome of his stuff is amazing, but also really rounded square, badly foreshortened stuff.

Mainframe is just a bunch of uninteresting renders of their 3D stuff. Just big group shots like an elementary school class photo.

A lot of random artists ranging from great to horrible, so at least there’s something there. Some clever ideas and groupings.

Some of the artists don’t seem to understand Transformers are aliens, not Mecha. They aren’t made up of 10MM bolts and 50 gauge copper wire inside. This is Transformers no Gundam. Some great pics by E.J Su are ruined by this error.

Junichi Nakamura is the clear winner in this book, a great sense of composition, proportion, perspective, and he really just captures the heart of The Transformers. He even ths wrap around cover.

I think it’s a great inspirational book for aspiring TF artists. A lot of what you should and shouldn’t do in this book. Worth taking a look at.

I just purchased this book and it was everything I expected. There is excellent artwork (Dreamwave being my favorite) from all different Transformers serieses including some Japanese ones. This is a beautiful hard cover book that would look great on a coffee table and is great for browsing through.
