A charming, gorgeously illustrated botanical encyclopedia for your favorite romantic, local witch, bride-to-be, or green-thumbed friend.
Floriography is artist and illustrator Jessica Roux’s full-color guide to the historical uses and secret meanings behind an impressive array of flowers and herbs. The book explores the coded significances associated with close to 100 blooms, from flowers for a lover to flowers for an enemy.
The language of flowers was historically used as a means of secret communication. It soared in popularity during the 19th century, especially in Victorian England and the U.S., when proper etiquette discouraged open displays of emotion. Mysterious and playful, the language of flowers has roots in everything from the characteristics of the plant to its presence in folklore and history. Researched and illustrated by popular artist Jessica Roux, Floriography makes a stunning display piece, conversation-starter, or thoughtful gift for floral fans, gardeners, and anyone interested in romanticism and historic traditions.

The quality of this book is outstanding! The book front and picture is in really good condition!
And the pictures inside gives such a cozy vibe
It also explains in simple form of what each flowers meaning is, While also giving a lil fun fact on why that is!
It’s so simple to learn from it so I highly recommend buying it

Beautifully illustrated book! Will be a great reference book for artworks. Only knocked a star off because it came with a little damage, very minor, I’m just a bit of a book snob so made me sad.

Beautifully illustrated and informative to read. I bought this after watching “The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart” with Queen Sigourney. This book is great for any plant lover, in my opinion, or it would make a lovely gift.
If you’re on the fence, just do it.

This is a concise volume filled with beautiful, detailed illustrations in color and short, concise descriptions.
Often books like these are full with black and white drawings, making it hard to really get a sense of what you are looking at, but not in this book. The illustrations alone is worth the purchase.
My only criticism, and it’s not the author or publisher’s fault, is that Amazon was careless in its packing and some of my pages were damaged in the corner.

It’s a lovely book. It bigger, in regards to the number of illustrations than I expected. The paper is of good quality. And the illustrations are antique style. And It just so nice to look at.the 5×8 size is becoming very popular. It makes the book seem very cozy and romantic. If you can say that a book of illustrations lol.

A seriously beautiful book!
For lovers of flowers, gardens and sweet messages hidden in a bouquet.
If you watched the “Lost Flowers of Alice Hart” and were one of those who noticed the messages hidden within the bouquets, or the meaning of a single flower as it came up on the screen and it’s significance within the scene and this was something that “stood out” for you watching this amazing story, then this book is a must have alongside the actual book – Lost Flowers of Alice Hart AND The Complete Language of Flowers. I think it is better than the Complete Language of Flowers!
Gorgeous!!!

The book is fascinating. The coloured pages are very detailed and the paper quality is a joy to flip through. The meanings are concisely worded in an encyclopaedia style.
FEDERICA GRILLO –
Well presented hard bound book.

This book is informative, but not overly. The pictures are beautifully done. You get a nice little introduction to the world of flower language. What I really liked about this book is that you learn the language of the flowers in small amounts.

I needed images for craft projects I am working on and this book was perfect for that application. Beautiful images on darker colored background. They look lovely in every application I used them for.
