This book is so tall that it doesn’t fit on my bookshelf. I will have to readjust as it is mainly for the size of guide books, which this has surpassed in height. The pages are beautiful and I am glad I bought it.

La calidad de las ilustraciones son espectaculares, encontraran arte conceptual, arte promocional, arte de las locaciones, armas, personajes, etc. No lo dejen pasar si son fans de FFXIV y mas si su expansión favorita es Shadow bringers. También si no son tan fans de FFXIV vale la pena.

The book printing quality is very good and the artwork is very nice, as expected. The only criticism I could give is that it would be nice if the artists wrote excerpts or insights about pieces in the book.
The in-game minion that you get from redeeming the included code is very cute.

It doesn’t have any explanations/descriptions, it’s just pictures. It shows both actual concept art and glamour concept art, which is great. As someone who wants to get into the concept art line of work, this had some really great examples. I think I would have preferred it as both a “student” and a fan of FFXIV to see more regular concept art, however, as a lot of it was very polished.
It was also very cool to see what the artists envisioned, as when I first played Shadowbringers, my thinking was “wow, this is surprisingly very empty (Crystarium)” or “wow, this is literally just copy/pasted (Eulmore Slums),” but the concept art showed things in a better light I think. In the artist’s comment section, one of the artists mentioned how they believed that this book really portrayed their vision better than the game itself and I totally agree with her! Regardless, the expansion is still amazing. It’s by far my favourite of the lot. 🙂
