I teach drawing and colored pencil rendering, and this is seriously one of the best books I’ve ever seen on the subject. All business, no fluff, concise and to the point. The step-by-step illustrations on technique are so helpful. I think Foster may have stopped publishing this because I couldn’t find it new, and that’s too bad.

I had this book and lost it when I brought it to class to show students. It is a gem so I re-ordered it. Style demonstration in book is with a gray scale — a great start that applies to other mediums as well. Highly recommend.

Very disappointing. Almost nothing in this book about how to use them. Talks about other art tools. A waste. ave your money!

I was hoping it would have more detail. Good info for beginners, just not as much color theory as I was hoping for.
