Fantastic art book. I love Marcel’s silly style and using his YouTube videos as supplementary instruction has been great for my art development. I cannot recommend this book (or his channel) enough.

Sooo we all probably came from “Draw Like A Sir” but it’s great also like mario- I MEAN MARCEL said! It is NOT a tutorial! More like an organized guide, like his channle (which actually have tutorials on it)
Sooo~ GLAD they have this in English!!
Anywho, I’d get it! It’s great quality and it’s fun to read and look to for reference! ☆

It’s very helpful for learning how to draw and I like that his personality and humor is included. I can automatically hear his voice and tone (due to watching him on his “Draw Like a Sir” channel on YouTube) with every word I read, because it’s written in the natural way that he speaks. Very enjoyable and useful book.

This book is amazing. It is very well organized (in a way that does not feel overwhelming). I truly appreciate the anatomy section. This is a great book , you can see that Marcel put a lot of effort, work and thought into this book. Everything you would need to know to draw is here. I came here from his Youtube videos which are equally amazing to his book. Definitely would recommend this 100%.

I’m a beginner, and this book is really easy to understand! I have fun reading through it when I’m struggling with a specific thing, like drawing heads or poses.

I’ve been a fan of the author’s YouTube videos for a while, and when I heard about his book, I was beyond excited! It was originally only in German, but NOW it’s available in English!! I love how the concepts are clearly explained, making it easy to follow along and practice on your own. Starting art later in life, I really appreciate a book that breaks things down simply. The rest is up to us to practice, of course! 😉

A great book for beginners on those who want to learn how to draw. It has simple steps, and the author is skilled and a good teacher.

This is a great entry level supplementary book for entry level artists to start them on their way of drawing people.
While the title insinuates it’s manga drawing, only a section of the book focuses on the manga art style, which in my opinion is good. When starting with the basics, you need to learn baseline realistic human anatomy, and that’s what this book generally covers. So for those who want to advance to the anime style, they can then advance to the sections of the book that focus on those aspects. Adversely, should someone learn the basics, get to these anime sections, and by that point decide they want to go to in a different direction in terms of style than anime, they can decide to just use those sections anecdotally.
All of this is done with a very fun attitude, making the whole process a very engaging and enjoyable time for what is teaching the otherwise rather daunting skill of art. Great book!
