I enjoyed the book because I am starting to incorporate mixed media in my artwork now. It has excellent examples and the instructions are included for each of the different techniques. Good book for mixed media/colored pencil artists.

Not as good as I thought it would be. I was looking for more instructional ideas and less collage pictures.

I enjoy colored pencils and the ideas on how to use them in mixed media are very inspiring. The projects are specific but the skills presented can easily be used in your own ideas. The book is beautiful and the instructions are clearly presented. With practice, beginners will learn a lot, especially from the demonstrations of different line techniques with colored pencils and how to blend colors. Those with experience and an interest in nature themes will find inspiration and enjoy the depth of the projects.

I wish they would have spent less time on the gorgeous photography and presented more examples The content was a bit limited in my opinion. This was a great seller experience.

Really love this book. There is a current trend for building collage and scrapbook pages around old photos or images of people and it’s really not something that I find pleasing. For some reason I don’t like peoples’ ugly mugs staring at me from artwork or photos! I have always much preferred images/paintings/drawings from nature so this book is just my cup of tea! It is nicely laid out with good explanations of the artist’s picture making process and materials and I am finding it a great source of inspiration and ideas. The only criticism is that the coloured pencil examples are not great. Having used coloured pencils for donkey’s years, I know that much better effects are possible by layering colours, using sharper pencils and paying more attention to detail. Still love the book though, especially from the collage and layered and textured backgrounds point of view.

Personalmente me parece súper útil. Una buena compra.

I love this book it is illustrated so beautifully and has been written to flow from one topic to the next, in a seamless fashion. It is clear and consise and for every artist. I refer to it daily.
It’s not a stuffy textbook but it is a wonderful reference book.

What an outstanding book! It gives so much concrete and clear advice about using colored pencils and how to design pieces of art in compelling ways. Kelly is a gifted teacher who makes the process of colored pencil collage understandable and doable one step at a time. She gives multiple visual examples to hone student’s skills and artistic eye. This book is a treasure if you love colored pencils and want to take yourself to a higher level of creativity.

EXCELLENT book! I’ve been a mixed media artist and teacher for 15 years and am learning things about composition that I knew but couldn’t articulate (“It just LOOKS right”). Projects are sophisticated enough for the advanced artist, simple enough for the beginner. I’ve already recommended this book to my artist pals and will look at others by this author.

I started to do collage and mixed media recently and this book has been a great help. I wanted something that gave me ideas to use my colored pencils in mixed media. It even has the pictures to trace and a lot of great, creative ideas. I have used it often and keep it handy.

Been pondering getting this for a while. Hope it will help with ideas. I certainly seem to have a lot of colored pencils.
