Gave this book as a gift to my great son-in–law who has already made several wonderful carvings without any instruction. He was very happy to receive the book. I like that the many techniques used to create the eagle are easily transferred to chainsaw carvings in general.

This book makes you believe you can actually carve an eagle. It’s one of three I purchased and I believe it’s well worth the money. I’m afraid my eagle will turn out looking like a raven but who knows? Ordering a dime tip carving saw in a few weeks to get started practicing! I’ll update this review, with pictures, in the future once I tackle the intended project.

Stihl ms 170 is the chainsaw I used combined with a Chainsaw grinder. I would have preferred a little better pictures of a few things but I liked the book to help get me started. This was my practice Eagle. I will be doing a tall tree stump overlooking our pool in the next couple of months. Great learning piece.

I bought this book for my husband who wanted to learn how to chainsaw carve. We ended up doing it together. I would read, he would chainsaw. The directions are excellent and easy to understand. Photos included are perfect and help a lot. We were very satisfied with this book and have bought another in this series.
