This is a book about self-sabotage. Why we do it, when we do it, and how to stop doing it—for good. Coexisting but conflicting needs create self-sabotaging behaviors. This is why we resist efforts to change, often until they feel completely futile. But by extracting crucial insight from our most damaging habits, building emotional intelligence by better understanding our brains and bodies, releasing past experiences at a cellular level, and learning to act as our highest potential future selves, we can step out of our own way and into our potential. For centuries, the mountain has been used as a metaphor for the big challenges we face, especially ones that seem impossible to overcome. To scale our mountains, we actually have to do the deep internal work of excavating trauma, building resilience, and adjusting how we show up for the climb. In the end, it is not the mountain we master, but ourselves.

I have been a voracious reader for sixty five years. This book is in the top three and possibly the best in non fiction. West’s writing is clean, succinct, and to the point. How one person can condense so much applicable wisdom and clear understanding of how to succeed at life is beyond me. I wanted to highlight every paragraph. I will certainly read it again. Highly recommended.

This book is truly transformative but you have to be ready and willing to receive the message. If you are not ready it may fall flat for you. But if you are ready it will help you discover the truth of who you are.

Mark 11:23 say speak to the mountain what happens when you realize the mountain is you.
I enjoy this book and I’m still reading and working on each chapter this is not a book you just read and put down. To me I would officially call it a self-help book so do you first and then maybe you can help someone else.
