I was looking for a crochet book which give me knowledge and how to do different project and different types of pattern.
This book is excellent. You have borders, unique design, how to combine the design, and pattern for any big project. Also the color picture and explanation are very well done, my 14 years old daughter is teaching herself with the book and her work is really good.
I will not have been able to make her do a better job. This book has everything.

I’ve had a copy of this ever since a I was pre-teen, and my old copy got water damaged and ruined. It’s no longer in print. I ordered this copy to replace my beloved copy, and it’s in perfect condition! Doesn’t even smell old and moldy! I was thrilled with this purchase, and grateful for the replacement, as it’s such a clear and perfect reference manual (with diagrams that I find easier to follow than written instructions.)

Very clear diagrams and instructions on how to complete basic stitches, followed by shells, clusters, and more complicated techniques. I especially liked the Catherine’s wheel illustration on showing multiple colors and ideal stitches which can be crocheted using different colors of thread. There is one chapter on borders, another on Irish crochet, and finally a concise discussion of Tunisian/Afghan crochet at the end. It is a good source of ideas for the bored crocheter who is looking for more ideas or one who needs inspiration for a new project. One thing that I wished the author had included was a chapter on writing one’s own patterns and project ideas. Otherwise, highly recommended book.

I bought this book because everyone who had loves it. I have it now and I can see why. I have several nice crocheting books but this is one of the nicer ones. It is almost full of patterns which I love. It has a small beginning section for basic stitches and them some others so it is great for beginners and experienced. There really is something here for everyone.

I feel quite sure if you purchase this book you will be happy with it as a wonderful reference and pattern idea book. I get so bored with the same old stitch patterns and this helps break up the monotony. I only buy crochet books with symbol patterns included because they are the ones easiest for me to follow and yep, this one has the symbols and pictures and written out instructions on every pattern.

This has more actual patterns that any other book I have seen and I have several.

If your on the fence, dont be…look at the glowing reviews. It is hard to please everyone but this book seems to have so far. Good luck and happy crocheting!
