Recently switched from traditional medium to virtual & I have struggled to adjust. This book is great for reference. The material, instructions, & videos are helpful. The format is easy to follow with lots of information to help any level of artist. Highly recommended for anyone looking to learn or level up.

Great and helpful book. I’m very glad they made an English translation to the original Japanese copy. What better way to learn to draw anime characters than from an actual Japanese illustrator? I’ve done my own doodling for years but this really helped me get the actual principles and concepts down. It all just finally clicked for me after sitting down, reading this, and putting in the time studying it. Looking to start the 2nd book soon to dive deeper into more complex poses.

100% recommended. Is the first book of this genre that actually gives useful tips about composition and also for creating characters with functional perspective and anatomically accurate credible clothes. Moreover , i find pretty Advantageous the possibility to watch the making of the ilustrations on it. Lessons and ilustrations are very practical, just the first lesson allowed me to correct and improve one of my OCˋs ilustrations.

Sullivan Marks –
Teaches you the basics and more, gives many examples and explains things simply. Shows both male and female, the whole body, clothes, perspective and more.
Alucard –
This is a very basic, BASIC, B A S I C level of drawing, made for someone who never drew in their whole life.
Q:Is this a bad thing? Why did you buy it than?
No, not at all. I just buy it on accident, cause I wanted to see more examples… because the ones he provided aren’t very good for judging the book at all.
Q: But why you would give 3stars than?
Because, I’m a professional, and I need to learn some other more advanced things, and this ebook does not teach you that. (ex: composition, colour theory, overall image quality and fell).
Q:Why were you expecting that from this in particular?
Because I follow this artists, live, everyday and see his explanations and some of his videos have way more depth explanations about things, than 20pages of this book.
Q: How many pages?
Only 150pages, yeah its not a whole lot.
This is a very barebones “how to draw manga” for newbies, I would say you probably got some middle level stuff in at best(like some anatomy), but I wouldn’t be beating on it too much if you are already an experienced artists with jobs to full fill expecting to learn more, this is not the book for you.
PS: It does seem to have some stuff that could potentially benefit professionals, but seems to be very brief explanations. Anyway I will update this in the future when I go over it with more care.
