I think this is an amazing book and definitely worth the price. I’m a huge Batman fan and love the Arkhamverse, so this was right up my alley.
Only complaint I have is just the format. Don’t get me wrong, this is exactly what any fan of the series would want. I would just like to have it digital cause there’s some artwork in here that I would love to use as a wallpaper on my computer and tablet.

Over 300 pages of pure gorgeousness that even those who do not follow Rocksteady and their masterpieces will enjoy. What you see as the promotional piece is the dust jacket for the big, heavy book, but take a peek underneath and you’ll find an AWESOME! image of Batman in silhouette, reminiscent of his look from Arkham Asylum. On the back, his Eternal enemy:The Joker.
There is so much to read yet that much more to love about Rocksteady’s version of Batman and those who oppose him. From concept to completion, there seems to be very little left to the imagination or questions that are not answered in this book. Well, there is no step by step on their Free Flow combat; they cannot tell us EVERY-THANG! You will definitely NOT leave this on the coffee table: this is beautiful, absolutely stunning and with the extra large PAGES to make their creations even more vivid, I think you will agree.
When you see the volume of sketches and workups, especially with the environments, it’s no wonder games cost so much. Not so much with the retail side where we pay, but what studios pay to produce these games. It was extremely frustrating when Arkham Knight was delayed by more than a year, and when you consider that this book contains NOTHING on the DLC for the next six months, it begs the question: who wanted to release the game last year? Still, it is quite nice to read the thoughts on how each game was approached, how to whittle down a particular narrative, and how a studio that began with 40 people has grown to nearly 4 times its original size, all while developing & enveloping a loyal following that will surely continue to grow.
No diggity, no doubt.

The book seems to aim to be a reference about the Arkham games, even though the “Origins” one is obviously excluded. It contains a lot of concept art showing how the game evolved in the mind of its creators and is punctuated by in-game renderings and screen captures. Reading the reported anecdotes reveals how close to designing a film developing a video game can be. The book is quite heavy and the paper of high quality. Its weakest point is that it speeds through “City”, which I think is probably the game with the better visuals, atmosphere and character design. It is however something to be owned and kept along the art books sold along with the collectors edition of the games.

I just had to have the art book after playing Arkham Knight (greatest game ever made). Rocksteady really created a rich dense gorgeous Gotham and this is one of the best artbooks I’ve ever read. It’s a big book with sections for all three games. Lots of great designs with plenty of insight into how all three games were made. It has the perfect ratio of art to developmental insight.

As a Batman fan man-child and a fan of videogame art books, picking up this book was a no brainer. Featuring the best art work pieces from Rocksteady Studios Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City and the recent Batman: Arkham Knight, this is one of the best art books I own and even features some back-story on each of the games for the art work in question. It’s a very hefty book of a large size, so you will more then get your money’s worth here. I would say that this is a must have fan for Arkham fans, but this is a MUST HAVE for ALL Batman fans!

I received the book today and to my surprise it’s a brand new one. Beautiful book, my son is so happy since he didn’t know I had ordered it and he just loves it. The packaging was extremely well. Thanks to the seller for taking the time to wrap it so well. Highly recommend the seller. Would purchase again.

Daniel Wallace (author of The Joker: a visual history of the Clown Prince of Crime & Batman: The World of the Dark Knight) compiles this beautiful Coffee-table book celebrating Rocksteady Studios’ award-winning games (including Studio if the Year at thr 2009 Spike Video Gsme Awards) set within their unique perspective on DC’s Batman also known as the Arkhamverse. The immersive narrative created between 2009-2015 (releases including the Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Knight) have offered an amazing exploration and twist on Batman canon while, I think, truer to the spirit of the world than any film, tv or game has even come before. Using minimum text to diminish the glorious promotional and conceptual art the book shares how artists, writers, programmers and a small developer with no track record to speak of reimagined Batman for whole generation gamers. Rocksteady’s wonderful aesthetic of rethinking the classic looks of heroes and villain via hyperrealistic stylized character design brought something classic but fresh to the comic standards. It’s this accuracy and exaggeration that most reminds me of Burton’s milestone re-envisioning of the late 80’s and I think the Arkhamverse will have equall impact on pop culture and comics. Filled with hundreds of images and interviews with creators and details from all three games (Arkham Origins is not included) this book is a MUST have for any fan of art, The Dark Knight or any gamer who has stopped mid game to appreciate the striking quality of design throughout every inch of Gotham thanks to Rocksteady Studios. I hope that this end of the Arkham games is only the beginning of their partnership with DC, I’d love to see their take on Metropolis.

What an amazing book! There are looks behind the scenes on the development of all three Rocksteady Batmar Arkham games and the book is worth the purchase. It is amazing to see the artwork and some of the thoughts that went into the development of these games. The book is a very nice hard bound edition and I found it useful and worth the time and effort for the purchase. I’m amazed at the time and effort the developers put into the game, even getting into the boots that the TYGER guards wore. It looks like I’ll have to play through these games again when my next vacation hits so I can start looking for all these little details that are scattered throughout.

Very good book!!! Great printing!!! Cool informations!!!
It could have more information about the third game and it would be perfect if it were vault style.
But the book is really very good.
