Ant-Man and The Wasp was so much fun! With this movie, we get more about the quantum realm and of course get to see The Wasp in action. It’s amazing to see how much time and effort the concept artists went through to bring this film to life. Hank Pym’s quantum suit, which was in the movie a brief period of time, went through several iterations on the concept board before they settled on the final design. It was a lot of fun to explore that and many other designs throughout this art book. I highly recommend this for fans of the movie and fans of the MCU.

C’est un superbe livre de 288 pages, écrit en Anglais, qui nous a été concocté par l’éditeur, qui débute par une préface de Peyton REED, le réalisateur du film. Les concept arts sont de véritables pépites artistiques, tant les peintures présentées par Andy PARK, Jackson SZE et bien d’autres artistes, sont magnifiques. On a parfois l’impression qu’elles vont prendre vie sous nos yeux. Les multiples versions des costumes de Ant Man et The Wasp, les deux protagonistes principaux, sont mises en valeur, notamment à travers les deux personnalités de Hope et Janet Van Dyne, fille et mère, pour cette dernière. La présentation des nouvelles technologies s’effectue à travers les industries Pym Technologies, dont on retrouve les plans détaillés de l’immeuble, ses divers laboratoires et la création du tunnel Quantum, tous initiés par le professeur Hank Pym. Le laboratoire de Bill Foster est montré, ainsi que le design pour Ghost et sa chambre de régénération. On assiste également à l’immersion dans la réalité quantique, ainsi que les vaisseaux chargés de transporter les intervenants dans ce micro-organisme. On y découvre également quelques photos originales du film, des storyboards, ainsi qu’une postface servie par Andy PARK, qui sert de conclusion. Un bien bel objet, protégé par un coffret très solide, dont les couvertures peintes subliment le travail effectué. Les détails abondent, nous plaçant au cœur de la production Marvel. Un livre essentiel pour en apprendre plus sur le film.

This is the 13th book I’ve bought in “The Art of the Movie” series as these are real collectors items in my view. This one is no exception as it is beautifully illustrated book, which is presented in a hard slip case with illustrations of the main characters across the front and back of the slip case and the same on the front, spine and back of the book itself when you take it out of the slip case. The art work is very colourful and impressive and I would recommend this to any Marvel movie fan. It’s another one for the collection.

Another beautiful instalment in the MCU art book series. The pages are glossy and have a nice weight to them. The art work is stunning and the notes and comments are fantastic. The character design pages are really gonna help me with my costuming projects 🙂 the Marvel art dept knows where it’s at.

Die Marvel-Kunstbände sind gänzlich überragend. Wer sie hat, der weiß, wie schlecht dagegen der deutsche Buchmarkt abschneidet. Marvel macht Bücher für Fans 🙂 In Deutschland druckt man Kunstbände für Bürokraten, die sich die öden Schinken leisten können…
