This is a beautiful book packed with great imagery and info from the movie. The concept art and final executions are explained in vivid detail. I love the design motif symbolism used and explained when creating the world of Wakanda. Even though it is based off of fiction the science is based off of real studies.

As an artist, and a fan of movies and a fan of Black Panther, this book has everything I want in an art book. I just saw the movie yesterday (which was phenomenal by the way) and then looking at the concept art, you can see where the inspiration came from and how the art translated into the film. The suit designs are beautiful and I wish they would have used each concept in the movie and the cultural influence warms my heart. A great book for a great movie!

Si te gustan las Art Anthologies donde diferentes autores de fanart recopilan sus obras en homenaje, definitivamente te va a encantar. Se siente como una antologia de Kickstarter, solo que son los diferentes diseños y arte conceptual originales. De verdad, es espectacular. Me sorprendió la cantidad de material, estaba flipandolo con la cantidad de diseños y cuando miro no iba ni por la mitad del libro. De vez en cuando hay pequeños textos pero son con letra pequeña y discretos, ya que lo importante son los diseños. La variedad de ilustradores y estilos hace que sea un libro increiblemente completo. Es muchisimo mas de lo que me esperaba. Una de las cosas que mas me gustaron es que como ilustrador puedes aprender muchas cosas fijandote en bocetos y diversos diseños de una misma escena o atuendos. En serio, pensé que iba a ser un libro curioso e interesante con una cuantos diseños usados en la peli, pero me metalicé con encontrarme mucho texto y huecos vacios en las paginas. Y para nada. Es como si hubiesen cogido TODOS los diseños conceptuales para la pelicula y los hubieran lanzado al libro. Espectacular. Mejor 37e que he gastado. Vale hasta el último centimo.

As a Marvel fan, I loved seeing the in-process designs, and I was wow’d by the detail that goes by quickly onscreen. I left this out when I had guests and it convinced at least one of them to watch the movie for visual effects alone. 🙂

Carter and company have done a stellar job bringing Wakanda to life. This book is perfect for anyone who wants to know more about the movie’s background and how the MCU world of Wakanda was built.

Calling these MCU “The Art of…” merely books is a total understatement. I own nearly all of them for each MCU entry and there are few words to describe the level of detail and stunning visuals included, along with honest commentary from the writers, set and costume designers, producers, actors, and pretty much anyone involved in these movies. Just seeing the artistic evolution of characters, sets, costumes, and then being offered artistic insight into why specific decisions were made feels like an all access pass into production aspects that make my #MarvelGeek weep with joy! 😍 Up to this point “Civil War: The Art of the Movie” has been my favorite. “Marvel’s Black Panther: The Art of The Movie” had bumped that one down to #2. Literally everything about this satisfyingly heavy and abundantly illustrated tome has had a profound effect on me and the way I view the movie… which I’ve seen 6 times. After each movie viewing, I notice something I didn’t before… Which has me running back to this as a reference. I’ve already pre-ordered those for AntMan & The Wasp… and of course Avengers: Infinity War!! In my humble geeky opinion, these are all totally worth the price. YOU. WILL. NOT. BE. DISAPPOINTED.
