If your an Ant-Man fan, should get this book. They didn’t adjust the levels before printing, so some art work will appear dark on paper. Marvel has fixed it in the New Art Of Books. Its not a big issue for me, they got some nice art work.

Another wonderfull book in the Marvel art of collection. Character concept art focuses strongly on the designs of Ant-man, Yellow Jacket and the Ants. There are also designs for The Wasp and Hank Pym. Missing out is the falcon, maybe its the suit design that will be worn in Civil War upcoming movie. Environment concepts depict Hank Pyms house and detailed concept of the vault. You can also see Hank Pyms company and Ant-Man’s daughter’s room where the final battle takes place. The Yellow Jacket is my favourite as it is really good and you can a good feel of the design process. It is a must have is you are a fan of the movie or if you are a avid collector of the Marvel Art Of series. I strongly recomend it.

Like many people I’m sure, when Marvel announced they were making an Ant-Man movie my initial reaction was “huh, really”? Of course Marvel went on to create a great movie filled with action and humor and introduce a great character to their cinematic universe. This book shows a bit of the road they took to get there. Like the other books in the Marvel movie art series this comes in a really nice slipcase and is really high quality. Inside you get concept art for the various suits, characters, locations, and tech you’ll find in the movie. You also get commentary from the artists and designers so you can see how the final product materialized. One thing that is rather interesting is that you get multiple artists working on the same thing. For example there may be three different concept artists working on the suit for Yellowjacket so it’s interesting to see how those differ and what elements are taken from each one for the final design.
