This book of over 300 faces was created by an artist who understands that sometimes, you just need a creative nudge to help get the pencil moving and break that pesky block. By simplifying the human form, we hope to remove the inevitable anxiety that comes with drawing a face, and speed-up your art, over time, increasing your own understanding of human anatomy, proportions and movement.

While not the author’s or publisher’s fault Amazon ships this paperback in a paper envelope with no support. As you can imagine the post office is brutal in shipping so the book arrived damaged.
As to the book itself, I did not request a replacement 1) because they would ship it the same way & and 2) the book isn’t that great While Justin Martin’s art is great, the facial expressions are not as varied as one would expect. Most expressions are very plain without much difference between them page to page. Also, there is no index or catalog of the expressions. Want an angry expression, you are going to have to flip through, the same thing if you want laughter, or winking. You would be better off time-wise just searching the expression reference online.
The upside is IF you find an expression you can use, Martin’s line art is great for drawing the expression though you may want to exaggerate them a little more to be sure the emotion carries through for your viewers.

Bald and Boring! Same eyes, same lips, same nose, same eyebrows, same face shape, same age. The only thing that is changed is the facial expressions and angle of the face. Returning for money back.

It is a complete reference for female and male face expressions.
They work as maps for our drawings. I am using them for my sculpturing creations

A great idea to follow the large range of portraits found in this book. Each drawing is clear and shows many expressions which can be tried.
