I have no idea what this book contains but as my husband (who is the painter) is absolutely delighted with it, I must assume it IS great! Anyway, it’s just what he wanted, came promptly from the company so would use them again and recommend them, too.

I am really happy I bought this book, and I already have quite a few books on acrylics. The author comes across really friendly and helpful. Also, the scope of the book is very clear: it contains demonstrations and exercises of specific techniques that one should know and be able to use if one wants to have control over the acrylic painting process and be able to paint what one intends as an outcome. That’s it, and I find this refreshingly straightforward. The whole book is illustrated with Ian Coleman’s outstanding paintings, so that it shows that he really knows what he’s talking about. And, as I said, it feels friendly. (His first rule of acrylics is to not get them on your clothes. To me, this is rather endearing, and makes me feel like this guy doesn’t have too many pretences, and I can trust the process of learning in the book.) I’d recommend this book without hesitation.
