My 9yr old daughter was thrilled to receive this drawing book on Christmas. She often was searching in how to draw books how to draw different emotions/expressions. Only finding a few on one page. This book on the other hand showed so much more. She’s also been exploring drawing different body poses. This is her most referenced drawing book out of all the ones she owns.

You’d think this stuff would just come naturally to your art but there’s some real patterns she points out here on how to make things cute. I learned a lot and can take a lot of my art and change small things about it like putting the eyes down lower, wider face, small mouth, eyes farther apart and boom… cuteness. So helpful to have it spelled out.

This was a present for my wife’s birthday, and our boys promptly stole it – they love to draw as well, and keep finding favourite drawings (eyeballs, expressions, poses) to tell us about. The drawings are charming and the instructions are easy to follow. This book gives far more instruction than just tips about making cute art; there’s great drawing practice exercises and illustration design tips as well! Very valuable!

This book has been super helpful. I didn’t give it five stars as it gives you practice pages, and I would have rather had more direction pages. May be the librarian in me, but I don’t like writing or drawing in books. Wouldn’t have minded if it was skinnier without the practice pages. But that is just my opinion. This is great for all ages and the characters are just so adorable. Couldn’t be easier. Hope there will be a second book for backgrounds, foregrounds, and the middle.

Wha a beautiful and thoughtful book. I purchased this for myself because I want to learn to draw cute little drawings for my kids. I find art relaxing. Thank you for making such a beautiful book.

Don’t let the cuteness fool you – this is a deceptively instructional book! I mean, if you want to draw cute figures & animals, this book is an excellent, approachable manual, but I daresay you will learn deeper lessons about drawing in other styles as well, including depicting motion, backstory, etc. I would recommend this book for kids & adults both. I bought it as a gift for my adult daughter, and plan to buy a copy for myself as well. Trust me, it’s a worthy addition to your art library.

This book is a game-changer for anyone starting out or just wanting to add some serious charm to their drawings. From the moment I held it, I was hooked—the soft-touch cover is such a nice detail, and it sets the tone for how thoughtful the rest of the book is.
The inside is packed with so many characters and lessons that it’s honestly hard to put down. It’s perfect for beginners because it walks you through everything step by step, but it’s also just a joy to flip through and get inspired. The way the author breaks down expressions, poses, and all those little touches that make something adorable is so approachable. I’ve already learned so much, and I’m excited to keep going.
I couldn’t stop there, of course—I went ahead and bought the author’s digital worksheets and a bunch of other assets to go with the book. They’ve been such a great addition, with even more lessons and practice material that really build on what’s in the book. I feel like I have a whole little art class at my fingertips now.
If you’ve been wanting to try your hand at drawing, this is definitely a book I’d recommend. It’s not just about learning to draw—it’s about having fun with it and creating things that make you (and anyone who sees them) smile.
