I’ll admit I purchased Exposé 7 largely because I liked the cover.

Although my buying decision may not have been the most carefully considered, however, I certainly stand by my decision.

It’s a beautiful book, well presented, the printing quality is outstanding, and I can’t fault the choice of artwork within. It claims to showcase some of the finest art in the known universe, and while that’s a tough title to live up to, the contents do speak for themselves: some of the work in here is absolutely incredible, and it’s certainly an inspirational book for when you need a bit of artistic motivation.

As one might expect given the tagline, this work is also rather international. Although there may be some stylistic bias (don’t expect any manga-style art in here, for instance), it features artists from all over the world, each of them submitting extremely high-quality works.

4 out of 5 because there’s a variety of premium content available that you only get if you buy Expose from the publisher.

This is a great series of books for anyone interested in fine art especially anyone aspiring to
    become an artist.

There are numerous different styles and techniques used by the different artist that give great inspiration.

More great artwork from around the world using various styles but all to world class quality.

This is a beautiful book. However, the art becomes a bit repetitive and starts looking the same since it is all done in a digital format. I think that the Spectrum series is a much better series. It has a greater variety of art styles and formats which makes the pictures more diverse and interesting. The level of artistic competence is similar between the two books. But another factor is that while the size of the books and the number of art works in each are similar, the Spectrum books cost half the amount of Expose.

As the title suggests, this book is the 7th in Ballistic Publishing’s Exposé series. It’s roughly 220 pages, devoted entirely to digital art from around the globe. The quality of the book itself is excellent. The paper weight is heavy but not cumbersome, the text is small but crisp and the images are nicely displayed and printed.

The Exposé books offer a substantial and diverse collection of digital art. which means art created using any number of software programs from AutoCad to ZBrush. You’ll find images painted in programs such as Photoshop and Painter and others modeled in programs like 3ds Max and CINEMA 4D and many more created using any number of different combinations of programs.

What you can expect is a great variety of images, and there are hundreds. As with anything else in life, some will appeal to you, others will not. The images are broken into sections like Architecture, Fantasy, Concept Art, Environments, Matte Painting, Product Design, Storytelling and Steampunk, just to name a few. Each page has from 1 to 4 images, labeled with the name of the artwork, the software used to create it and the artist’s name and country. There’s not a lot of text here. The focus is solely on displaying as much art as possible, which is really a nice idea. They also name Master and Excellence award winners for the various sections and feature a Grand Master at the start of the book.

If you’re a fellow digital artist, you’re going to enjoy seeing what our peers are creating and if you’re a fan of art, I encourage you to check out this offering from Ballistic Publishing.
