this is my first book by dick onians. it is extremely well-written, thorough, and loaded with good illustrations and references. i consider chris pye’s work as the “gold standard,” and dick onians must be a close friend of pye’s, because they’re sharing the gold

作業の流れがわかるような連続した各工程ごとの写真は載っていません。
説明文（？）が９割といったところ。
写真と図説は一応ありますが、わざわざ洋書で買うものではない気がします。
僕は英語読めないので
たぶん二度と開くことなく本棚の肥しとなることでしょう。

This was also a gift for my husband he liked it, but was looking for something with how to projects or patterns, but he is using it, now wants another book with good ideas and projects something with step by step, and on how to use which tool does what, and how to DIY projects as he loves working with wood it feel natural to him. Will have to get him some more now that he is retired this is his new hobby and loves it.

An excellent introduction to wood carving and an understanding of the many characteristics of timber and the tools required to produce good quality carvings.
Copper Pot –
This is a very useful book as it takes you through how to create some specific items as well as explaining the techniques needed to create some of the basic shapes, shapes you will always use. This book is very useful for people like me starting out. It has helped bring ideas into reality. There are not many wood carving books that have this amount of useful information.
