This book is chuck full of ” how to ” airbrush paintings. Buy it, you won’t be sorry. I wish David Miller and North Light would bring out another similar book. Jim

Written by a team of airbrush artists from a business in Cincinnati, OH, the book gives a series of airbrush illustrations which were executed for clients of the studio and show how the artists created each step by step. What is great about this book is that it abandons the tired, seminal format of painting tubes and sphere, trigger control, etc. for using an airbrush and instead shows the reader how to integrate the use of an airbrush into creating real world art. It also show people how to approach a project where you will use airbrush and think about how to achieve specific effects like animal fur, leather, clouds, etc. The first section is a primer on the kinds of equipment that you can use in airbrush art, the strengths and limitations of airbrushes, mediums, and auxiliary equipment like brushes, colored pencil, and stencils. The book does concentrate on frisket airbrushing, as opposed to freehand techniques, as that was the rage back in the days of its publication. If you want some inspiration on how to approach your first large scale airbrush projects to build confidence and technique, Dynamic Airbrush is an excellent book.
