I used this like a workbook, copying each page and think my drawings as well as knowledge improved over the course of my journey through it. I would recommend this to anybody looking to learn to draw female bodies. It covers muscles, bone structures etc. Great starting book.

As an artist who struggles with female anatomy, this book is very good if you want the fundamentals of drawing curvy women, the only issue that i had is that it took some time to arrive. but it’s worth it, its cheap and has a lot of content. (There is uncensored content so keep away from children)

Ce manuel présente en profondeur la représentation du corps feminin dans une perspective de dessin manga. Présentant le corps humain en le décomposant partie par partie, il permet de comprendre comment dessiner des personnages féminins avec style. Un trés bon livre technique.

I was very impressed with the depth of info from this book. while it doesn’t do ‘step-by-step’, it gives the reader plenty of insights about how to draw different aspects of the female figure. unlike some books on the same subject (Manga females – mostly young ones) it does so without being too prurient. the drawings are sexy without being lewd. well worth the money.
The Forgotten Time –
One of the best reference pieces. I got exactly what’s shown in the picture. I recommend this for multiple references to the female body and the different poses it can bring. This book is correct in saying it doesn’t shy away from the more risqué drawings.

Really useful book. You couldn’t do a more complete text on how to draw female anime\manga characters and it’d be useful for any kind of life drawing.

“Drawing The Female Figure: A Guide for Manga, Hentai and Comic Book Artists” by Hikaru Hayashi is a fantastic visual resource for artists who prefer learning by seeing rather than reading walls of text. It’s straightforward, thoughtfully laid out, and very easy to reference—especially when you’re in the flow of working and just need quick, practical guidance. The explanations are short but meaningful, and the art examples do a great job of showing exactly what’s being described.
Hayashi’s approach is respectful and tactful, focusing on understanding the structure, motion, and design of the female figure rather than sensationalizing it. There’s a strong emphasis on mastering the basics, and even as a non-beginner, I find myself returning to this book for clarity and direction during the early-to-mid stages of creating a piece. It’s like having a visual checklist that keeps me grounded.
That said, the one frustrating downside is that it doesn’t come in an eBook or digital format. As someone who likes to have physical books and a version I can keep open on a second monitor while drawing, this was a bit disappointing. I really hope a digital edition becomes available in the future—it would make it even more accessible and convenient for working artists.
Still, despite that, this is a reliable reference that earns its place on my shelf. If you want something that’s simple but not shallow, clear but not cold, and built for actual use, this book is absolutely worth picking up.

This book doesn’t pull any punches in learning anatomy. It’s awesome in that in most of the poses, it shows WHY the body looks the way it does by showing the muscles and the skeleton in said pose. It accentuates the parts of the body that show through the skin like the collar bone, shoulder blades, knees, elbows etc. I’m only on page 31 or so, but I’ve been enjoying my progress drawing all of the examples in the book, and I’m sure I’d have learned a LOT by the time I’m done! Seems like an invaluable book in learning the female anatomy, especially in the manga style. Even if manga isn’t your end-goal, I’d still argue that it’s a great starting point in learning the basics! Literally ONLY complaint is that the supply seems low now. I got mine for $33, and now they’re almost double that.
Reason I mention it’s hilarious is that a lot of the text is VERY blunt. It features such quotes as “Front Angle showcases Big boobs.” Always gets a laugh out of me.

It’s the English version of another Japanese book. This book is focused on the manga style of drawing females, and the author goes very in depth with his descriptions and illustrations.
There’s many different examples presented in different angles as he goes through the different details to pay attention to when drawing a character. I think this book will be very helpful for an artist focusing on drawing a female’s body in the Manga style.

Front Cover falsely advertised, was not the same as advertised so that was a disappointment, current cover is quite boring to me vs advertised cover but ig if you have it out ppl wont know its got breasts in it.
Lacks detailed examples on drawing the smaller details such as eyes but shows how to place them, and also doesnt show how to draw female genitalia, that’s fully censored with underwear which is disappointing for a how to draw “hentai” book as that’s kind of essential for it. Great illustrations throughout the book of each part mostly, tho some were a bit packed with lines making em a lil hard to separate them. Felt like some parts were rushed as some things had alot of detail and examples and steps then the next thing would get 1 little corner and thats it, like how to draw lips n such.

Amazing detail. Nothing left to your imagination. It’s a must have if you are even thinking about drawing something naughty.
