This book has given my already great drawing ability a boost! This book not only teaches you how to draw different species of furries and animals, but it also goes in depth to the different types of human-animal creatures from plain human to just an average animal. Not only that, but it also teaches you how to transform your plain old artwork into a fantastic work of art with shading, scenery, and facial expressions that will make your drawings seem full of emotion! This is by far the most helpful “How to Draw” books I have ever laid my eyes on. Most drawing books show you step by step how to draw SPECIFIC characters, objects, or landscape. This is not one of those books. This goes far beyond what any of those books could teach COMBINED! This book teached the formation of different creatures. It teaches the bone structure of the creatures showing why they look the way they do. It teaches how small changes in drawing a male or female character can greatly amplify the visual ability to determine the gender difference, even in those as obscure as birds. I would recommend this book without a doubt in my mind to any fellow artists who wish to know more. THIS BOOK HAS IT ALL!

I purchased this book to aid me in an anthropomorphic comic that I’m illustrating and this book is super helpful. (Comic can be found via my Instagram @gillymarie00 btw)
I was scrolling through the reviews, and saw complaints of this book not suiting beginner artists. I honestly thought this book was a little too easy, or slightly below my level. I’m no beginner artist either though, as I’ve been actively drawing for over a decade. So, I can’t really speak on behalf of beginners. But, if I were to recommend a book to artists starting out with drawing furries, I’d definitely recommend this one.

For all the stigma that “furries” get, it’s amazing just how detailed some of the artwork is at times. Much of it is incredible because of the artist’s knowledge of both human and animal anatomy.

I picked up a copy of this book because I do dabble in anthropomorphic drawings from time to time. I usually have a hard time with animal facial details, longer snouts like many dogs especially, but this book gives a good visual breakdown of how it should look. The same holds true for the other types of animals covered in the book.

At the start of the book there is a (very) quick breakdown of human anatomy and each chapter goes over the defining features of the animal type. It’s not a perfect resource, but it does help greatly if you’re trying to wrap your mind around getting your drawing to look like what you want.

My only complaint really is that it doesn’t go into greater detail with the anatomy, but if it had, the book could easily be twice as thick. It would also end up being quite repetitive at times.

Artists with some previous skill would probably get the most out of this book. Even advanced artists could draw some inspiration.

Furries are a mixing of animals and humans with the emphasis on unique traits. The result is a cartoon with character, personality, and attitude.

The book covers cats, dogs, horses, rodents, and birds. It provides step-by-step illustrations of the face, full body, and action poses. Then there are tips on clothing your creation, adding colors, and roughing in 2 and 3 point perspective.

This book is WONDERFUL! I bought it to help with my drawing but it showed me so much more. I drew the cat and I think it turned out wonderful especially because this is my very first time ever doing human anatomy. The step by step instructions help out both visual learners and hands on learners. This book is amazing and I recommend it by far!!!

A good friend saw this in a store and told me about it. I found it here online cheaper! I’m an avid artist and furry. This book has a lot of ideas and inspirational pieces in it, as well as how to’s. Great for someone starting out with drawing furries, or someone who’s been doing that for years. It’s always good to find a new perspective and basics to remember.

I’d recommend this book to all who love to draw furries.

Parece muy ameno y práctico. Estamos deseando aprender a dibujar furries y a pesar del texto en inglés las indicaciones son sencillas.

The book itself is nice. The quality of the book, images & information inside is all great, but it’s not going to teach you how to draw furries if you aren’t already a somewhat experienced drawer. You don’t have to be a good drawer for this book to be helpful, you just have to already know the basics of how to draw people, animals, things in 3D. I wouldn’t necessarily consider this a tutorial book as much as I’d consider it a book to help you better your drawing skills. Yes it has “step by step” instructions, but it tells you what to do and doesn’t break things down individually to show you exactly how to do it. It’s general steps that you should already know. I’ve made a few attempts to draw things using this book and with practice, I’m sure I’ll improve, but there’s a lot of other examples, tutorials, & other information I’ve had to use along with this book to get a better understanding of what the book is telling me. Again, the book itself has very useful information and I’ll keep it as it’ll be useful once I’ve improved my skills, but if you’re just starting out then I’d suggest looking elsewhere or even teaching yourself from stuff you find online first, then use this book to hone your skills.

The book is very well detailed on how to illustrate or draw such a character or species. I love.
I do not see something I do not like or hate about the book.
