Explore the powers of DC Comics’ greatest characters like never before through stunning anatomical cutaways and in-depth commentary from the Dark Knight.

Concerned about the threat that so-called “metahumans” may pose to the world, Batman has begun compiling a detailed dossier on their incredible physiology and abilities. From villains like Killer Croc, Bane, and Brainiac, to Batman’s own comrades, including Superman and Cyborg, the file brings together the Dark Knight’s fascinating personal theories on the unique anatomical composition of these formidable individuals.

This stunning and unique book delves into the incredible abilities of DC Comics characters like never before. Using beautifully illustrated anatomical cross sections depicting twelve different DC characters, the book, told from Batman’s unique perspective, will explore how these “metahumans” physical makeup differs significantly from that of the average person. From detailed theories on how Superman’s eyes shoot heat rays to an in-depth exploration of how Aquaman is able to breathe under water, the book delves into the deepest secrets of these classic characters. Also featuring chapters on the anatomy and abilities of Doomsday, Aquaman, Swamp Thing, Darkseid, Martian Manhunter, and more, this one-of-a-kind book will change the way you look at metahumans forever.

This book is very cool, I think that I like it better than the marvel version personally. There is more content and the content is more thorough. However, there is one thing that is really weird. How did they pick the characters they were going to highlight? I would have been very happy if they had picked the main justice league characters, but they left off Flash. They covered Cheetah, Bane and Killer Croc, why not do an entire book on Batman metahumans, you certainly have enough with Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Clayface, and Man Bat and others, alongside Bane, and Killer Croc. I don’t know, it seems a little thrown together. Superman probably could also have an entire book on his enemies, instead of having Darkseid, Doomsday, and Bizarro, just thrown in this one. There was an amazing opportunity for them to do interesting books, focusing on these characters, and make money for DC. The art is excellent, but the execution is a little slapdash.

I’m a long DC fan, grew up on comics from the 80’s all the way up to present. Always intrigued by the ‘science’ of superheroes so this book appealed to me greatly. I love the Journal entry style and presentation greatly and have added it to my collection. I love sharing the images and journal entries with my son and have some interesting conversations about the content. A great buy for the superhero fan in your life

Solo recomiendo quitarla.

If you are torn by “maturity” and starting to believe that comics are for kids, give this book a pass.
If you love the larger-than-life characters that live in comics, specially DC Comics, and just like to enjoy an artbook made entirely from them, then this is a book for you.

You won’t learn anything extraordinary or ground breaking about DC’s heroes, there’s not a story behind the book (actually there is some sort of a story [Batman’s paranoia]), nor it’s a Grey’s Anatomy for meta humans (although it’s evident that the author drew inspiration from that book).

It is a book for the pure enjoyment of the art, Batman’s notes and a little backstory over something purely fictional.

If you buy this book, hopefully you’ll enjoy it as I am; just don’t expect that, after reading it, you”l be able to perform surgery provided a Kriptonian and a kriptonite scalpel.

    5*

Written from Batman/Bruce Wayne’s perspective this is both a cool look into the mind of the character and his theories on the anatomy of some of the metahumans he encountered.

The book is informative and goes in-depth into how powers of superheroes and other super-powered characters can work in real life. The packaging and hardcover is quite sturdy too.

Awesome! While not as big or detailed as the Marvel Anatomy(Which I have and love) still really cool. Being from the perspective of Batman is a nice touch. Only thing I would change is adding more characters(which it kind of implies there may be a volume 2 upcoming). I will most certainly purchase if another volume is released. A must have for any DC fan. No complaints.

I expected picking this up an in-depth book on some of the top DC Metahumans answering some of retcon questions on their abilities. This is not that. Instead it feels like you are being welcomed by the Dark Knight to into his world a little. The writing from the point of Batman doesn’t answer many questions about how Swamp Thing can function, but it is a compelling read through his thought process of how it Might work.
