“Creating Characters for the Entertainment Industry” è un volume bello corposo, sia per contenuto che per fattura, le spiegazioni sono chiare, essenziali e ben strutturate, inoltre il libro è stampato su carta patinata con una buona grammatura, dopo una breve premessa, ci sono due pagine dedicate alla struttura del libro o meglio al “come usarlo”,
il volume è essenzialmente diviso in 3 parti/capitoli: 1 “Dietro le scene” 2 “Tutorials” 3 “Bonus Briefs” La prima parte è dedicata al lavoro e al come farlo, prima della creazione di un personaggio, per ognuno dei 3 media presentati, nella seconda, 3 artisti realizzano dei charters design mettendo in pratica le info del capitolo precedente, mentre nell’ultimo capitolo ci sono dei “Bonus briefs” appunto, per fare direttamente pratica.

Ce livre est divisé de manière diffèrente que son prédécesseur (creating stylized characters) :
Il est composé de 4 thèmatiques différentes : un aventurier, un magicien, un dragon et un écolier . Pour chaque personnage, un chapitre divisé a chaque fois en trois parties : video games, illustration, et animation.
On voit donc pour chaque personnage les spécificités qui vont être demandées dans le monde du jeu vidéo, de l’animation où de l’illu, expliqué à chaque fois par un artiste renomé.
C’est un très bon ouvrage pour se perfectionner! Mais si vous voulez vraiment apprendre a styliser des personnages, privilegiez Creating stylized characters qui sera plus générale. Ici ce sont vraiment des conseils pour des rendus déjà bien poussés. Un super complément de qualité !!
