This book is truly helpful in guiding you to learn and memorise the different kanji. They have pictures, show you the order of writing the strokes as well as how you can apply the characters (both in Chinese and Japanese). It would be better if you use this book under the guidance of a teacher. I had numerous questions pertaining to the usage of some of the kanji characters but wasn’t able to make any clarifications as I had no teacher to direct my queries to.

I ordered this book a while back upon the recommendation of my Japanese teacher. I absolutely LOVE it. It teachers you not only Kanji and their uses, but different combinations and new vocabulary you won’t find in most textbooks. It has a lot of practice with not only repetitive writing, but in sentence usage and Kanji recognition. I would definitely recommend this to everyone!

I used this exact same book when studying Japanese in high school and it was very helpful! It’s great for those wanting to improve their kanji knowledge, giving useful vocabulary and clear stroke orders. In terms of buying, pay attention to Amazon’s ratings for each of its sellers. Even if the book gets expensive, trust the 97% rating. My book shipped over from Japan and arrived a whole week earlier than expected. I’m not saying expect your stuff to come sooner than expected date, but definitely trust Amazon’s ratings of other sellers. Japanese language learners need books like this. The exercises do wonders for retention of kanji.

Con explicaciones, significados y pronunciaciones, ejercicios de práctica de escritura Kanji y otros ejercicios para introducir los kanjis en contexto. Comparado con otros libros de kanji trae casi el mismo contenido, este es mucho más gráfico, se representa con algunas imágenes en blanco y negro, en conclusión, muy recomendado.

I have bought several other Kanji books before buying this one. Some of the other books left me with unanswered questions. Others unmotivated me to study so i gave up studying. I bought Basic Kanji Book because one of my friends who is also Japanese student suggested me to buy it.
Basic Kanji Book is a great choice if you are learning Kanji. In every chapter you learn 10 or more Kanji characters. And at the end of the each chapter you will review them by having 30 or more questions about these characters. The good thing is that each chapter and the questions make you feel like you are learning Kanji. That feeling motivates you and makes you want to study more Kanji.
I suggest this book to everyone who is trying to learn Kanji. I am totally satisfied with this book.

The book is very helpful in differentiating between the Japanese readings and the Chinese readings of the kanji. It gives clear examples and practice pages. I read some other reviews that say there’s not enough boxes to practice the stroke order but that really is not a problem. If there were more boxes the book would have to be much thicker. Personally, I used a dry erase board to practice the kanji if I didn’t have enough boxes. It also helps break down the kanji from its origins which is very helpful in when trying to remember the meaning and pronunciation. For more advanced kanji shown in the examples, it has the reading above it.

I am currently taking Japanese II and I find this book really helpful for the kanji section, because its a good reinforcement and practice of the kanji I’m learning in class. I REALLY recommend it, because it will really help you out, regardless if you are taking a Japanese class or not.

I used this text for my teaching Japanese. I have been using this text with different version for almost 25 years. I still think that this is the best text to study Kanji. There are plenty of Kanji study books in the bookstore or online bookstore. If your teacher doesn’t pick up any specific Kanji text or reference book, do please use this text. I taught for 30 years in several different countries. I still think that no other text can win over this text. This text has Volume 2, Volume 3 and more, and more. I hope you will enjoy studying learning Kanji with this text.

I have tried a couple of Kanji books but this was recommended me by my Japanese teacher who is a Japanese native. It works brilliantly. It doesn’t just have a list of readings and a bit of writing practise, instead it teaches you to apply the kanji in words and sentences and gets you to do hiragana to kanji and kanji to hiragana practise. It encourages you to see the origins of the kanji so you can see why it is drawn the way it is. this enables you to understand how Kanji is used so you can very quickly use it in your own writing, substituting it for the hiragana equivalent.

It is a good deal that I purchase this book. It doesn’t matter it is second hand, because I don’t care about the pages they already write on the front few chapters. But after these pages, the book are fresh which is what I expected. And there is no name by the side of the pages.

Buying new books could be so heavy on one’s pocket, specially for students. Luckily enough, I found a better alternative in Amazon which is this product. The big discount they have given has helped me saved so much money, with a book that is almost new as it did not seemed like it was used. I am so grateful to have bought this product. Thank you seller for giving me a good price and a good quality of book which I will be using for schooling. I’ll definitely be recommending your store to my other friends.
