Nice book and well put together, a very good introduction to acrylic painting. Inspirational, and a good range of subjects to try.

I Like Ms. Hammonds books. They are truly instructional. One can just follow the instructions and end up with a good painting and more confidence. The projects start with simple to medium to advanced. No project is complicated. Instructions are clear and detailed.
Definitely benefits a beginner and next level artists. I also have Amazing crayons by Lee Hammond. I would give the same 5 stars to that book also. And the same review. Though I got these for myself, I actually used these to instruct my grand-daughters aged 7 and 9. Both did wonderful job of following instructions and ended up with beautiful finished paintings. I would highly recommend this book and Ms.Lee Hammond’s other books on colored pencil and crayons to anyone – child or adult – who is eager to learn. Thanks you Ms.Hammond!

I am really enjoying this book. It illustrates some of the different techniques used by Lee Hammond. I am taking some local art classes, and this book gives me some interesting projects to work on at home. Even the simple example of making a round ball or shere look three-dimensional is helpful to a new painter and is not as easy as it looks. She stresses that there is an “Awkward Stage” in any painting, and she points this stage out in each of the projects in the book. This has helped and encouraged me to give my paintings the final details needed to make my paintings more realistic.
