Tom Swimm has got it right. I have just completed all of the exercises in this book, they were easy to understand, and I really enjoyed learning the different techniques. I have even been brave enough to try my own ideas on large canvases. This is an excellent self-paced guide to learning about acrylics. Get yourself a visual art diary and work through it one page at a time. I’m looking forward to exploring my own ideas. Thanks Tom.

Well written and illustrated, getting a beginner off to a good start. It touches briefly on many things such as materials , colour theory and techniques. With many lovely examples it is certain to inspire beginners to learn and get painting.
Print quality, while not great is not too bad. Very nicely laid out. Money well spent for a beginner in my opinion.
