I bought this for my 5/6 year old and we are reading one life every night. It’s a great book! Each life has a full-colour double-page spread on a girl or boy from a particular past culture. Costumes, objects landscapes and so on are explained with labels. The text is at a readable level, so she can read it to me, with just the right amount (block paragraph each on a topic in the chapter). It is really well produced, with just the right level of content – it’s not dumbed down or superficial and it covers a good range of past peoples.really brings the past to life – well recommended!

Great companion to history spine for elementary history curriculum. My kids read through it on their own often, and it helped them develop a sense of the progression of time, and the changes in human culture as well as the similarities.
